Short Bio

Fedor Fomin received Master (1992) and PhD (1997) degrees from the Faculty of Mathematics and Mechanics, St. Petersburg State University.Since 2002, he is a professor in Algorithms, at the Department of Informatics, University of Bergen.
His research interests are mainly in Algorithms and Combinatorics. Together with Dieter Kratsch, Fedor wrote a book "Exact Exponential Algorithms". He is a member of editorial boards of Algorithmica and SIAM J. Discrete Math.

Short Bio

Sergiu Hart is the Kusiel-Vorreuter University Professor, Professor of Mathematics, Professor of Economics, and Member of the Center for the Study of Rationality, at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
He received his Ph.D. in mathematics at Tel Aviv University in 1976. The main area of research of Sergiu Hart is game theory and economic theory, with additional contributions in mathematics, computer science, probability and statistics.
Sergiu Hart was elected Fellow of the Econometric Society in 1985, Member of the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities in 2006, and Member of Academia Europaea in 2012. In 1998 he received the Rothschild Prize. He delivered the Cowles Lecture at Yale University in 2000, the Walras-Bowley Lecture of the Econometric Society in 2003, the Harris Lecture at Harvard University in 2009, and the ACO Distinguished Lecture at Georgia Tech in 2012. From 1991 to 1998 he was the founding director of the Center for the Study of Rationality. He served as President of the Israel Mathematical Union in 2005-2006, and as President of the Game Theory Society in 2008-2010.

Short Bio

Heiko Röglin is an Associate Professor of Theoretical Computer Science at the University of Bonn. Previously he was an Assistant Professor of Operations Research at Maastricht University and a postdoctoral researcher at Microsoft Research Asia and Boston University. He received his Ph.D. from RWTH Aachen University in 2008. His main research interests are probabilistic analysis of algorithms and algorithmic game theory. He received an ERC Starting Grant in 2012 and a Veni grant from NWO in 2009.

Short Bio

Alan Scheller-Wolf is a Professor of Operations Management at the Tepper School of Business, Carnegie Mellon University, where he also serves as the head of their PhD program. His teaching and research interests include: Stochastic processes and queueing theory, especially with multiple servers; inventory theory, especially with perishable items or assemble to order systems; supply chain management; stochastic dynamic programming; quality; sustainable operations, especially related to renewable energy; health care; spare parts management; and Computer Science, especially related to resource allocation, task assignment and scheduling. He has worked with companies including John Deere, Caterpillar, the American Red Cross, Massive Incorporated, Amazon, and the Vera Institute of Justice. He sits on the editorial boards of several journals: Operations Research, Management Science, MSOM, MMOR, and QUESTA. He received his PhD from the IEOR Department of Columbia University, where he worked with Karl Sigman, prior to that he served in the Peace Corps in Serowe, Botswana.
