Optimization Seminar: Call for 2x PhD talks: Thursday, September 28th, 4-5pm
There is an open call for 2x contributed PhD talks for the PhD seminar slot on Thursday September 28th (4pm-5pm). To recall, each PhD talk is 25 mins + 5 mins for questions, and can be on any topic of interest to the optimization and theoretical computer science community. We would like to stress that this is a great opportunity to give a talk in a friendly environment and to get feedback from your peers.
To submit a talk proposal, please fill out this google form by *Thursday August 31st* (you should be able to edit after submission in case you want to change something before the deadline).
In the form, you are asked to provide basic biographical information as well as the title and abstract of your talk. You are also highly encouraged to provide a link to the relevant paper(s) as well as a link to your website (with your research publications), though these are not required. If you have given a talk before, you may apply again on the 4th call after your talk (i.e., you must skip 3 calls). The talks will be evaluated by the organizational committee based on the quality of the proposed talk. The 2 selected speakers will be informed by Thursday September 7th.
Recall that
we have 2 calls per semester, so if your talk doesn't get selected this time
around, you are more than welcome to submit your talk again. For more
information about the Dutch Optimization Seminar, including videos of past
talks, please visit the seminar
homepage. |
